08 Mar International Women’s Day 2023
I hope you are all enjoying International Women’s Day whatever you are doing 😍
This year’s theme is DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality .
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO, 2023) “Digital innovation, technology and education can be a game changer in improving health outcomes for women and girls and enhancing their privacy and autonomy.”
This is one of the reasons we are working so hard behind the scenes to make our content available on more than one platform and format.
We want TSK Academy and Tutors Made for You to be fully accessible to all, irrespective of race, gender, ability, or financial status.
We value our clients, friends, family and followers. We value the families who come to us for support; the adults and children who want to know more about their condition or want to help someone who is struggling; we value the organisations who want to make positive changes in their workplaces to be inclusive of all.
Both myself and Shanna have come from difficult childhoods. We struggled through school. We have faced inequality on a daily basis. Being “different” has not been easy, but we are doing our best to make sure others who feel “different” can be accepted for who they are and recognised for the strengths and talents they bring to the table.
As women, we also face challenges in what can often be a male dominated environment. Being a #FemaleEntrepreneur was not something that was even considered only a few years ago. If you were any way “different” or a woman, or even a woman with a difference, we were not seen as anything other than the mum or wife. The person to stay at home and cook the dinner, clean the house and care for the children.
I am delighted to say, I think things are definitely moving in the right direction, and I certainly don’t want to come across as a man hater (difficult considering I have 5 brothers and 10 sons in our blended family), but we are not quite there with an equitable life compared to our male counterparts.
Digital innovations, technologies and education can help in creating that equity across all genders and we are happy to be a part of the process 💗
